Telehealth Information

Understand how remote nail care works, what it can and cannot provide, and what to expect before your medical review.

Not for emergencies. NailCur’s website, intake forms, and messages are not emergency services. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not wait for an online response.

What is telehealth?

Telehealth allows a healthcare professional to provide care when you are in different locations. It may involve reviewing information and photographs you submit, or a telephone or video conversation when appropriate.

Review of submitted information may happen later, rather than during a live appointment. Submitting a form does not mean a clinician is reviewing it immediately.

How NailCur’s process works

  1. Provide your information. Complete the designated intake, including your health history, medications, allergies, previous treatments, and requested toenail photographs.
  2. Medical review. Ivar E. Roth, DPM, MPH reviews the submitted information and determines the appropriate next steps.
  3. Additional evaluation when needed. The team may request clearer photographs, lab reports, information from another treating clinician, or a consultation.
  4. A treatment decision. If treatment is recommended, the team will explain the plan and applicable costs before purchase.

Completing a screening questionnaire does not establish a diagnosis, approve treatment, or guarantee a prescription. Follow the submission instructions carefully; answers entered on one website page may not transfer to a separate intake form.

Who the online pathway is for

NailCur’s initial online pathway is intended for adults age 18 or older who are physically in California when care is provided. Provide accurate location information and tell the care team if your location changes.

Remote care may not be appropriate for every patient. Call the office if you are unsure whether this pathway fits your needs.

Benefits and limitations

Remote care can make it easier to share your history and photographs from home. However, photos and written answers do not provide all the information available during an in-person examination.

  • Image quality, lighting, or incomplete information can limit assessment.
  • Technical problems may interrupt communication or delay review.
  • An in-person examination or laboratory testing may be needed before a diagnosis or treatment decision.
  • Electronic communication carries privacy and security risks; no system can eliminate every risk.

If symptoms change or worsen while you are waiting, seek timely medical attention rather than relying on an unanswered online submission.

Before telehealth care begins, the care team must explain the use of telehealth, obtain your verbal or written consent, and document that consent.

You may ask questions or tell the team that you prefer an in-person evaluation. Agreeing to telehealth does not prevent you from receiving in-person care during your course of treatment.

Reading this page or clicking a website button does not record your consent. Consent must be obtained and documented separately through the practice’s clinical intake process.

Prescriptions, costs, and results

Dr. Roth determines whether a prescription is appropriate. Medical history, other medications, previous reactions, and lab findings may affect that decision. Additional information or clearance from another treating clinician may be necessary.

Review the starter kit and pricing before proceeding. Treatment outcomes vary; NailCur does not guarantee a cure or offer a money-back guarantee. Review the purchase terms presented before payment.

Protecting your information

Use only the intake and upload channels designated by the practice for medical histories, photographs, and lab results. Do not post medical information in public website comments or send it through social media messages.

Use a private device and location when possible, protect your access links, and sign out when using a shared device. Call the office if you need help submitting information or accessing your records.

The website’s Privacy Policy explains website information practices. Ask the practice for its Notice of Privacy Practices for information about the use and disclosure of your medical information and your related rights.
